Community Parking Reminder - Towing Enforcement
THA values a safe and accessible community for everyone. Please remember that all vehicles must be parked in designated areas and follow our community parking guidelines.
- Blocking dumpsters, fire lanes, or in a no-parking zone
- Expired vehicle tags or no tags
- Abandoned or inoperable
Effective immediately, vehicles found in non-compliant:
Will be towed at the owner's expense without further notice.
To avoid inconvenience and costs, please ensure your vehicle is parked appropriately at all times. If you have guests, kindly inform them of our parking rules.

Back-to-School Routine Reset
Shifting from relaxed summer days to early school alarms doesn't have to be stressful! Use these quick tips to ease your family back into a winning routine before the first day of school:
- Shift Bedtimes Gradually: Move bedtimes and wake-up times 15 minutes earlier every couple of nights so no one suffers from first-day exhaustion.
- Do the "Night Before" Reset: Pick out outfits, pack backpacks, and set them by the door every evening to eliminate morning panic.
- Keep Breakfast Simple: Stick to easy, grab-and-go options like fruit, yogurt, or pre-made items to save precious minutes.
- Build in a 10-Minute Buffer: Set alarms just 10 minutes earlier than needed for a stress-free cushion against lost shoes or forgotten homework.
- Start with Positivity: A calm, encouraging sign-off at the door sets a confident tone for your child's entire day.

Summer STEM and Literacy Camp hosted by Chair City Rising
On July 23, 2026, the Thomasville Housing Authority wrapped up our Summer STEM & Literacy Camp in partnership with Chair City Rising. For five weeks, campers explored the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) through engaging science experiments, engineering challenges, and interactive projects that encouraged creativity and critical thinking. This included building model ecosystems that showed different types of habitats, programming robots to walk and move using solar energy, computer game coding, as well as creating unique treats using scientific methods such as no-shake ice cream. Campers also strengthened their reading and comprehension skills through interactive story sessions, creative writing activities, and group reading exercises designed to spark a lifelong love for books. A highlight is that most of the books revolved around heroes of color to give the sense of belonging and identity.
Beyond in-house camp activities, campers were given the chance to experience in-house field trips. They were able to learn about safety and courage from our local heroes with the Thomasville Fire and Police departments. They made chocolate chip cookies with healthy ingredients with Communities In Schools Thomasville. They were able to experience social-emotional learning through a puppet show and were even able to explore animal science with a traveling petting zoo!
Programs like this show just how bright our community's future is. A huge thank you to Councilman JacQuez Johnson, our visiting community partners and volunteers, enthusiastic campers, and supportive families for making this summer program such a tremendous success.
Mobile Career Resource Center with Goodwill Industries NWNC
On Monday, July 20th, Goodwill Industries NWNC Scroll through the Thomasville Housing Authority with their mobile career Resource Center. This state-of-the-art bus includes private conference room for interviews, our one-on-one training, multiple computer stations, resource counter, and more. Residents ages 15 and up were welcomed to come onto the mobile center to speak with career coaches from goodwill. These individuals were given resources and opportunities to apply for jobs while receiving one-on-one on the spot coaching.

Community Closet with Save Our Babies
The Thomasville Housing Authority recently hosted our quarterly Community Closet, presented in partnership with Save Our Babies. Despite rainy weather outside, our pop-up thrift store was buzzing inside with neighbors browsing, shopping, and supporting one another. This time around, there was a large assortment of baby and kids clothing and shoes due to high demand from our residents. We even had a couple of community volunteers come and help support this event.
A heart-filled thank you to Save Our Babies for their steadfast commitment and partnership in organizing, stocking, and running this event. Their dedication ensures our community always has access to the resources they need. The next Community Closet will be in the fall.
