About Us

The Thomasville Housing Authority (THA) was chartered as a non-profit corporation in 1969 under General Statutes, Article 157 of the State of North Carolina to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing to the low to moderate - income citizens of Thomasville. Operating in accordance with regulations promulgated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and as provided for by the terms of the U.S. Housing Act of 1937, the Authority, a Public Housing Agency, is governed by a five member board of commissioners.

The agency administers 259 units funded under the Public Housing program and 100 tenant-based section 8 housing choice vouchers.

It is the mission of the THA to provide affordable housing to eligible people within our community while creating and promoting opportunities for independence, self-sufficiency, and an improved quality of life. Our organization is committed to teamwork that values integrity, initiative, innovation, and trust.

THA's goals are to maximize housing opportunities for eligible persons, to facilitate opportunities for self-sufficiency of the residents, and to create a team-based environment that promotes communication and development of all employees.
