Phi Beta Sigma Host Holiday Food Box Giveaway
The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Tau Epsilon Sigma (TES) Chapter helps people all year round, but the need is especially great during the holidays. Understanding the value of feeding the hungry, the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., hosted a "Christmas Food Box Giveaway" on Saturday, December 20th.
According to organizers, each food box included "all the items to prepare a Christmas meal at home. A real gift to families who are on the financially low side of things."
Families could drive through and get a food box at the giveaway, which was a come-and-go affair. Many of the cars that were pulling up was making decisions, such as whether to buy Christmas dinner, pay the utility bill, or fill up the car with gas. Therefore, the fraternity was there to help families who were experiencing food insecurity. A modest act of kindness to show the community that we are aware of their situation and care about them.
The Thomasville Housing Authority would like to express its gratitude to Lowes, Food Lion, and Phi Beta Sigma for making sure that families had the food they needed for a happy Holiday.
"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity and kindness during our Holiday Food Drive. Because of your donations, we were able to bring comfort, nourishment, and hope to those in need this season. Your compassion truly embodies the spirit of the holidays, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our caring community."

Holiday Spirit Shines at the THA Family Holiday Bazaar
The spirit of the season was alive and glowing at the THA's Family Holiday Bazaar, as residents gathered for the annual event at the community center. Twinkling lights on the Christmas tree, Christmas spirit filled the room the air, and laughter echoed as neighbors greeted one another with hugs and smiles.
The evening kicked off with games, followed by festive music that had everyone humming along. Children excitedly visited Santa's corner, where they shared their wish lists and took pictures. Organizers say the event wasn't just about celebrating Christmas, it was about strengthening bonds. "This is what the holidays are all about," said event coordinator Jessica Crenshaw-Leonard. "It's about connection, kindness, and making memories together."
As the night came to a close, residents left with full hearts, warm hands, and a renewed sense of community spirit-proof that the magic of Christmas shines brightest when shared.
Each child received gifts because of the amazing generosity of our THA Staff, Saving Our Babies and AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina for the gift donations and ensuring that every child present experienced the holiday spirit and the gift of giving experience. Without the help of our community partners, this fantastic event would not have been possible. In addition, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated Theta Eta Zeta Chapter, for their support, supplies, and holiday magic that made today so memorable for our families.
"Dear Santa, thank you so much for joining us and bringing your magical holiday spirit to our event. Your kindness, joy, and twinkling smile made the day unforgettable for children and adults alike. We're so grateful for the time you spent with us and for spreading so much cheer. Until next Christmas, we wish you safe travels and a sleigh full of happiness!"
