Happy Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving approaching and the holidays just around the corner, we want to take this opportunity to thank every one of our staff members, our residents, and members of our community. Thank you for making our community a wonderful place to live and work. We hope you have a joyous and safe Thanksgiving holiday!

Daylight Savings Time

Just a Reminder.... Daylight Savings Time Ends.
It will officially end at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, NOVEMBER 1, 2026.
Remember, as we "FALL BACK," set your clocks back one full hour, thus gaining one extra hour of sleep Saturday night.

"Free" After School Tutoring
Hosted by Save Our Babies

In October we kicked off the "FREE" after school tutoring program sponsored by Save Our Babies. After-school tutoring serves as an extension of the educational experience, offering students additional
time to grasp challenging subjects. The kids are having a great time as they have an opportunity to get the help that they need and make new friends along the way. The fall session ends December 14th, so be sure to sign your students up today. For more information call 336.475.6722.

Destroying or Defacing Property is a Lease Violation

As a reminder, destroying or defacing property is a lease violation, and it can lead to serious consequences such as financial charges, security deposit deductions, and even eviction.

Deliberately destroying or defacing property, whether by vandalism, malicious damage, or excessive wear beyond normal use breaches these terms and is considered a material lease violation

Parental liability is generally based on vicarious liability, the legal principle that a parent can be responsible for the harmful acts of a minor child under their supervision. This often applies to:

  • Property damage (damaging walls, doors, etc.)
  • Personal injury caused by your child
  • Certain criminal acts

Parents are legally and financially responsible for the negligent or wrongful actions of their minor children. Parents are held accountable for all damages.

It's Time to Get Ready for Winter!

The Winter Season will soon be returning! Please take a moment to review these items - as you are responsible for maintaining the well-being of your home.

  1. Heater - If you have not done so already, please take a moment to turn on your furnace for a test. You might also take this time, as a reminder, to place a work order if we need to change the batteries in your thermostat, replace your furnace filter, and clear your air vents to ensure your unit is working to the best of its ability.
  2. Smoke / CO Detectors - Winter months bring more fire hazards. PLEASE test and place work order if not operating as designed. * NEVER disconnect or remove your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors:
  3. Window - make sure your windows are secure and locked
  4. Never use space heaters, kerosine heaters or your stove to heat your unit.
  5. Pay attention to weather reports and warnings of freezing weather and winter storms. Listen for emergency information and alerts

* If you are planning to be away for more than 7 days, please contact our office to let us know in advance. Also make sure your heat is kept at a minimum of 55 degrees to avoid frozen pipes.

Thank you in advance for your attention to these matters. As always, we appreciate you taking responsibility.

Thanksgiving Humor:

  • What do you call a running turkey? Fast food
  • What's a turkey's favorite dessert? Peach gobbler
  • Why did the stuffing cross the road? To get to the other sides
  • What do you call an attractive Pilgrim? A puri-ten
  • Why was the turkey at the Thanksgiving party? He was the main course of conversation
  • What's a turkey's least favorite day? Fry-day
  • Why did the cranberries turn red? They saw the turkey dressing
  • What did the scarecrow win at Thanksgiving? An award for being outstanding in his field
  • What do you call a sad cranberry? A blueberry

List of Homeowners vs. Renter's Insurance, the text on the picture is in the text below.

Renter's Insurance

Homeowners Insurance vs. Renter's Insurance

  • Covers the actual building you live in - The landlord pays for the coverage on the actual building, and you pay for coverage on personal property.
  • Most lenders require it if you take out a mortgage - Taken out by tenants to cover personal property and liability owned by the tenant and not the responsibility of the landlord.
  • Typically more expensive than renter's - Never assume the landlord's insurance will cover anything you own in or around the property.
