Message From Executive Director Rosemary Q. Steele

Greetings from the Thomasville Housing Authority! At the Housing Authority, we are dedicated to offering programs and opportunities that support your growth, success, and stability. We want you to thrive! We are thrilled to provide monthly "Being A Better Me" Workshops hosted by Antoinette G Harper with following topics that encompass creating a better you. These workshops are like a treasure chest filled with opportunities to enhance your skill sets.

  • Building empathy
  • Taking responsibility
  • Self-Esteem
  • Practicing self-reflection
  • Embracing mindfulness
  • Creating a strong inner circle
  • Committing to lifelong learning

Knowing how to be a better person isn't about being seen by others as a better person. Being a better person is about taking a journey of personal growth that evolves you into the best version of yourself.

Participating in workshops fosters intellectual and personal development, boosts self-efficacy and self-esteem, and offers a setting where you may take notes and get feedback in order to improve and, ultimately, feel content with yourself.

Back to School. Block Party and Supply Giveaway.

The community and families found this year's "Back to School" block party to be particularly memorable. The event was sponsored by United Healthcare. Music was supplied by DJ Jimmy Jam, and complimentary haircuts were distributed by Kevin Thorne. Central United Methodist Church prepared and provided hot dogs, chips, and drinks. The local food trucks "Fresh Catch Seafood" and "Knightly Rose Italian Ice" gave away free Italian ice and fish plates. Popcorn was provided by Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations. In addition to the bouncy house and the free backpacks with school supplies, parents had the opportunity to communicate with community and charitable organizations that offered a variety of useful information and resources.
