Summary
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Life Skills Center "LSC" Program Director is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of a community center. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Community Program Director to oversee and develop, implement, and oversee programs that promote a positive image of the organization and foster strong community relations. Candidate needs to exhibit strategic thinking with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of community engagement and development.
This role requires a combination of strong organizational skills, experience in community relations, and a genuine passion for enhancing community life. The program director's goal is to ensure every program is completed successfully to add the highest possible value to the organization and program participants. Essential Duties
- Developing and implementing program goals and objectives that align with the organization's mission
- Coordinating with community partners to design programs and initiatives that meet the needs of the community
- Managing the budget for community programs and initiatives
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and making improvements as needed
- Developing strategies to increase community engagement and participation in programs
- Working closely with volunteers and community partners to ensure programs are executed effectively
- Building relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and other organizations to collaborate on community programs
- Coordinating community outreach events
- Develop and Create flyers, calendars, newsletters; etc.
- Organize community events and activities
- Ensuring programs meet legal and ethical standards
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication, capable of engaging with diver Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other management software
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (when needed)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Community Director or similar role
- Experience in managing community-based programs
- Understanding of budgeting, reporting, and program evaluation methods
- Exceptional communication and public speaking skills
- Familiarity with social media management and other digital communication tools
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups and communities
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Experience managing and executing community engagement strategies
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, community development, or related field
Additional Information
- Job Title: Community Center Program Director
- Work Environment: This role involves work in both an office environment and on-site at community program locations. Some travel may be required for meetings with partners or attendance at community events.
- Reporting Structure: Reports to the Executive Director.
- Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Pay Range: $45,000 minimum to $48,000 maximum
